Over 1 Million People Now Work at Certified B Corps, as New Global Research Highlights Leadership on Fair Work
July 28, 2025 — More than 1 million people are now employed by Certified B Corporations, marking a major milestone in the global movement to redefine business success. These jobs are spread across 10,000 B Corps in 160 industries, operating on six continents, united by a shared commitment to creating more equitable, inclusive, and purpose-driven workplaces.
At a time when technological disruption and shifting government priorities are reshaping the employment landscape in many countries around the world, B Corps are modeling moral courage and business acumen by creating good jobs even as other sectors step back.
This achievement coincides with the release of a new white paper from B Lab, which offers a first-of-its-kind look at how global B Corps are advancing fair work, not just through wages, but by embedding dignity, equity, and opportunity into the heart of their business models.
Continental Candy Industries in the Netherlands tipped the community over one million employees, followed by Serious Pig in the UK, and Heng Hiap Industries in Malaysia. Certified within days of one another and across 5,000 miles, these companies demonstrate that the drive to create good jobs transcends geography, uniting businesses around shared values.
These 1 million jobs created by B Corps span diverse industries and geographies, from technology startups in Latin America to manufacturing companies in Europe, food and beverage brands in North America, and hospitality providers in Australia and New Zealand. This diversity offers a practical, data-backed window into what quality employment can look like across different business models. They prove that businesses can be profitable while also providing good jobs; that the mistreatment of employees is a choice, not a financial inevitability.
B Corps are not just adopting job quality practices; they are testing, refining, and scaling them. They are improving health and wellbeing, strengthening employee engagement, driving innovation, and generating benefits that ripple to families, communities, and entire economies. The new white paper, based on employment data from thousands of B Corps and featuring case studies from B Corps including COOK, Rhino Foods, NatureSweet, and Secrid, reveals that:
B Corps adopt more job quality practices than their peers, including flexible schedules, robust onboarding, and ongoing skills training.
They lead across all pillars of the Aspen Institute’s Good Jobs Framework, economic stability, mobility, and workplace equity, with examples ranging from career development or mobility to respecting the contributions people bring.
Job quality practices have positive outcomes for both employers and workers. Adopting these practices positively correlates with Employee Engagement and Revenue among B Corps, demonstrating that fair work is also smart business.
These practices modeled by B Corps can support systemic outcomes, including reducing inequality, closing skills gaps, and improving productivity.
This milestone comes just months after B Lab introduced its new standards in April 2025. For the first time, all B Corps will need to meet baseline requirements across seven critical Impact Topics, including Fair Work. These new standards call for companies to embed fair wage policies, positive workplace cultures, and inclusive decision-making into their core operations.
Since B Lab’s founding in 2006, the B Corp movement has grown from a bold idea to a global force for systemic change. Over the past three years alone, employment in the B Corp community has doubled, a sign of accelerating momentum. As the community grows, so does its potential to shape the future of work, not just for the 1 million people employed today, but for millions more who stand to benefit from more just and inclusive economies.
“While workplace protections are under threat globally, B Corps show us every day that it’s not only possible to lead with moral courage and care because it’s the right thing to do—but it is preferable,” says Sarah Schwimmer, Co-Lead Executive of B Lab Global. “As others step back, CEOs and other business leaders in our community are paving the way for good job practices that treat people fairly and respect their rights. With one million employees now part of this movement, we can prove another way of doing business is possible and start to imagine the impact for societal change when workers are empowered and respected.”
“We’ve been a B Corp for 10 years now, and at COOK, we’ve always believed the biggest impact a business can have is on its people,” says Andy Stephens, Impact Director of COOK. “Being a force for good means creating workplaces where everyone has the chance to thrive—our RAW Talent programme, which helps people overcome barriers to work, is a big part of that. With a million people now working for B Corps, it’s amazing to see just how far the movement has come, and that good jobs really do make for good business.”
“At Rhino Foods, being a B Corp means more than a certification—it reflects our deep commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our employees and community,” says Rooney Castle, President & CEO of Rhino Foods. “Reaching the milestone of 1 million workers in the B Corp movement is a powerful testament to the growing demand for businesses that are accountable for more than profit and for jobs that are meaningful. Our initiatives, from the Income Advance Program to open-book management, are designed to provide good jobs and an environment that supports worker financial stability and personal growth. We understand that what is good for our team is good for our business. We’re proud to stand with other B Corps in building a future where fair work and job quality are the norm, not the exception.
“As a B Corp, we believe that profit and purpose should move forward together,” says Skip Hulett, Chief Legal Officer of NatureSweet. “At NatureSweet, we’re not just growing produce, we’re cultivating careers, empowering communities, and setting a new standard for what good jobs can look like in agriculture. We are proud to be part of a global movement that impacts over one million workers daily. The B Corp framework challenges us to lead with integrity, elevate our social and environmental impact, and hold ourselves accountable to ethical standards.”
“Becoming a B Corp has underlined Secrid’s commitment to making a positive social impact through every aspect of our business,” says René van Geer, Co-Founder of Secrid. “Celebrating one million employees across the B Corp movement marks a great milestone, proving just how many companies are uniting to use business as a force for good. Our close collaboration with sheltered workshops—highlighted in the report—demonstrates our belief in how design can create ‘good jobs’ that offer inclusiveness, empowerment, and dignity for all. Together, we are showing that business success and social responsibility go hand in hand.”
