About Emmy's Organics

Emmy's Organics produces certified vegan, gluten-free and non-gmo power foods. The company was created by Founders, Ian Gaffney and Samantha Abrams in Ian's mother's home kitchen. The goal was to create healthy, energizing snacks to sell to their community and local farmer's market. After only a few months, the couple realized that this was more than just a passion project. So, they got to work! After years of many company transformations and lessons learned, Emmy's products are distributed nationally and in Canada. Their products range from a line of macaroons that come in seven flavors, a jarred chocolate sauce and, launching in January 2014, a line of Super Cereals, all based in sprouted buckwheat. Health, Well-Being and Having It All --- that's Emmy's. 

Emmy's prides itself on its company consciousness. From in-house operations like composting, recycling and re-using to the types of packaging used, Emmy's is constantly working to improve and reduce its environmental impact. There is also community involvement. Emmy's continues to grow the ways that they can give back to their community and contribute to causes that matter. Then there is the work done for it's people. Emmy's provides a diverse group of benefits to it's employees ranging anywhere from weekly yoga to IRA contributions to a flexible health spending program. Emmy's believes that making a difference within the organization can make a huge impact to their community and beyond. 

Our values are right in line with B Corp values. We wanted a way to show the amazing things that our company does that our customers DONT see. Being a B Corp shows our commitment to our organization and the impact that we make and now we have a great tool to help us improve! We feel that becoming a B Corp sets us apart from other companies in our industry and we are proud of that!

The Change We Seek® 

Emmy's is committed to sourcing the highest quality vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO ingredients for all of it's products. Each ingredient is selected after a great deal of research based on quality and harvesting procedures. In 2013 Founder, Samantha, traveled to Sri Lanka, where she visited one of the plantations of Emmy's coconut supplier. Here, she was able to learn more about the coconut harvesting process and the supplier as a whole in much greater detail. As the company grows, Emmy's plans to visit more of their suppliers so they can stay connected and have a deeper understanding of each ingredient. All of the packaging used for Emmy's products is recyclable, re-useable or made from plant based or recycled materials. The new cereal packaging is printed with soy-based inks. Emmy's contributes to local organizations and, at least once a year, donates a portion of a month's online sales. Emmy's very much believes in People, Planet, Product, Profit and continues to grow and develop each of these aspects to be better and better.
