About Giving Assistant

Giving Assistant is a reward program for shopping at your favorite online stores that conveniently applies coupon codes at checkout, earns you cash back, and donates to nonprofit organizations, all for free.

Shoppers use Giving Assistant while shopping at thousands of online stores, including Walmart, Home Depot, and Macy's. Giving Assistant then encourages its users to donate some of their cash back to their favorite charity.

For nonprofit organizations, Giving Assistant provides a more consistent, long-term model to increase contributions, simply by employing the power and reliability of e-commerce.

Because of changes in consumer attitudes towards social impact, we know that in the future the best businesses in the world will be the best businesses for the world. Giving Assistant wants to be one of the best by transforming e-commerce and encouraging other businesses to do more to give back.

The Change We Seek®

Giving Assistant's mission is to transform the everyday shopping of 5 million people into measurable support for nonprofit organizations by 2020. How will they do this? By being the best reward program for shopping at your favorite online stores.

In the short time since their founding, Giving Assistant and its members have already had a tremendous impact. Over $15,000 has been donated to Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit that builds schools in underdeveloped global communities. More than $17,000 has been donated to Camp Kesem, a cost-free summer camp for children who have had a parent who suffered from cancer. By far their biggest success has been donating over $250,000 to Zidisha, a microlending platform for entrepreneurs in developing countries, which in turn has funded over 9,000 loan projects around the world.

Internally, Giving Assistant believes in working hard and living well. They offer some of the best health insurance available, unlimited vacation time, work from home Fridays, as well as stock options to 100% of employees. Their office is not only dog-friendly, but environmentally friendly as well, located in a Platinum LEED certified skyscraper in downtown San Francisco. Giving Assistant employees love to have fun and give back, holding quarterly Company Fun Days and Volunteer Days, keeping their mission in mind at all times.
