About Northeast Green Building Consulting

Northeast Green Building Consulting (NGBC) builds homes, advises and educates design teams, and verifies sustainable construction using a life-inspired process based on biomimicry, resilience science, building science and the sciences of the living world.

They are first and foremost a construction manager and advisor for sustainable, innovative homes. NGBC also provides building science & innovation design support for integrated project teams working on sustainable and complex projects, and green building certification and verification services (LEED for Homes Green Rater, LEED for Homes Mid-Rise Multi-Family, ICC 700-2012 Green Verifier & certified HERS Rater services).

Northeast Green Building Consulting supports clients and projects inspired to go beyond the commercially practicable, to constructing proof of concept, funded research, and visionary designs. Here, pier-reviewed scientific ecological knowledge (SEK) and the adaptive memory and wisdom of traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) inspire their work. NGBC's homes and cities are part of nature. To recognize that they and what they build, collectively, are key elements of living systems is to accept certain irrevocable, inviolate, and non-negotiable laws, codes and standards apply to all that they design and build. Deeper than human building codes are absolute laws relating to energy, survival and health, and their adaptive capacity and well-being and that of our children.

These inviolate laws can be expressed in science-based ways or as traditional adaptive wisdom. Ultimately, NGBC's process of design support, construction, teaching is devoted to enhancing the living world and as a deliberation for the adaptive health and well-being of the Seventh Generation to follow.

We believe change and value evolve only through action, and by doing and independently verifying how well one has done. B Corp certification verifies performance and is an excellent framework to use in evaluating one's business.

The Change We Seek®

Northeast seeks Value Change for Survival, as articulated by a UN Group of Spiritual and Parliamentarian leaders. Ultimately, they hope to work in community to set the living world as the template, standard, law & code for the design of any human building, city or product. NGBC aspires that all of their decisions and projects enhance the health and resilience our children and the living world that they shall inherit. Ultimately, they seek a social-ecologically diverse world that operates in accord with Life's laws, of biophysical abundance rather than industrial efficiency.
