About Third Sun Solar

Third Sun Solar is a Photovoltaic (PV) Solar system design and installation firm. They serve as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and design-build contractor and project developer serving the solar electric power market. With four NABCEP-certified installers and a NABCEP-certified Technical Sales representative on staff, they supply consulting/design services and full turnkey solutions for new and retrofit PV solar projects in the commercial, institutional and residential sectors. Third Sun Solar was founded in 2000 and serves the Midwest (as well as other parts of the U.S.) from their central office in Athens, Ohio and regional office in Cincinnati. Third Sun Solar is a woman-owned business, recognized as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the state of Ohio’s Unified Certification Program. The firm is EDGE-certified and federal HUBzone-certified.

Third Sun Solar became a B Corporation because we saw that certification, and alignment with the B Corporation mission, as being a natural outgrowth of our own mission. From our beginnings, we have sought to accelerate the growth in clean energy solutions by serving the triple-bottom-line credo: we treat our people well, we act to protect the planet, and we see profit as essential to our sustainability as a company, but not as an end in itself. We believe that being identified as a B Corporation will help others understand who we are and how we conduct our business.

The Change We Seek®

Third Sun Solar seeks to change the way our nation generates and uses energy. With the current reliance upon fossil fuels proving to be unsustainable in so many ways, the mission of Third Sun Solar is to help change the way people view energy, and to facilitate a national move to clean energy and sustainable practices – one quality solar array at a time.
