Auping is the largest developer and producer of personal sleep solutions in the Netherlands. Their story began in 1888. Founder Johannes Auping, a blacksmith in Deventer, was commissioned by a local hospital to replace its regular straw mattresses with a more hygienic alternative - and laid the foundation for their current position. The Auping family still holds a large majority stake in the company to this day. Since their founding, they have continued to develop ground-breaking - handmade - products that have changed the world of sleep and rest.
