13 May, 2025 — What if businesses could help build a better world? Today sees the launch of Common Good, a new film series from B Lab and BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions showcasing inspiring stories from purpose-driven business leaders from around the world.

Faced with global rising temperatures, increasing social inequality, and heightened scepticism of how companies can meet the demands of our changing world, a growing community of Certified B Corporations™ is trying to prove that business can be a force for good. Balancing purpose and profit, these nearly 10,000 certified companies are working to weave environmental and social performance, transparency, and accountability into their mission.

Presented by B Lab and produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, Common Good takes viewers on a journey across 14 countries to explore the tangible impact B Corps are creating across industries and regions to protect our planet, support communities, and reshape business for the better. Focusing on the human stories not always shared beyond the brands, this online series reveals how businesses can structure themselves to benefit both people and planet, better protect nature and nurture biodiversity through their actions, and champion initiatives that empower future generations while building prosperity for workers and suppliers.

These short films introduce you to remarkable innovators: the entrepreneur in the Sahel desert protecting dairy farmers’ livelihoods while bringing their products to the city, the tea-makers brewing biodiversity in Guatemala by encouraging cardamom farmers to plant in the local forest, the accountants in Idaho supporting a company which builds homes for unhoused communities, and the passionate beekeeper in Greece creating resilient hives with help of a forward-thinking cosmetics company. The series features films across four chapters, outlining diverse impacts.

The 21-part series uplifts the leaders committed to meaningful change, as passionate about their values as their diverse offerings, featuring B Corps Androscoggin Bank, La Laiterie du Berger, Once Upon A Farm, Yerba Madre, Toss Bank, APIVITA, Bridgetown Natural Foods, Who Gives A Crap, Secrid, Yogi Tea, Balloon Latam, Natura & Co, DB Results, Bruichladdich Distillery, OC&C Strategy, Jitasa, Entuitive, and Caravela Coffee, among other inspiring stories.

These are the stories of the trailblazers making it their business to strive for a more positive impact on our world. Watch the series now, or learn about stakeholder governance in action

“Common Good takes us on a journey of what's possible when businesses commit to a better way of operating, one that balances profit with purpose and measures success beyond financial returns,” says Sarah Schwimmer, Co-Lead Executive of B Lab Global. “These films showcase the real human stories behind the B Corp movement and demonstrate that business can indeed be a powerful force for positive change.”

“Yogi is honored to be a part of B Lab and BBC StoryWorks’ Common Good series. Alongside an inspiring collective of companies, united by the belief that business can be a force for wellbeing, we’re showing what’s possible when we reimagine what a business can do,” says Briana Buckles, Senior Sustainability Manager for Yogi Tea. “At Yogi, we’ve always believed that small, meaningful choices—like what you put in your cup—can be part of something bigger. As a company dedicated to a better world, this film is a tribute to the communities we serve and the values we hold close; a testament to, and reminder of, our commitment to wellbeing.”

“Many people can’t imagine how small changes in their daily lives, like the type of toilet paper they use, can create a positive, life altering impact for millions of people around the world,” says Danny Alexander, Co-Founder and Chief of Product & Purpose of Who Gives A Crap. “The Common Good series demonstrates not just possibilities, but illustrates the outcome of purpose-driven businesses building global communities with people who have a shared vision of what we can achieve together."

“Showcasing the strength of the traditional communities in the Amazon and the importance of the regenerative socio-bioeconomy is a central part of Natura's work,” says Angela Pinhati, Chief Sustainability Officer of Natura. “Seeing this story gain global scale through a production like Common Good is a recognition of the collective work we have been developing in the region for more than two decades.”

“We’re honoured to be part of the Common Good series and share our story on a global stage,” says Douglas Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Bruichladdich Distillery. “Since reopening our Hebridean site in 2001, we have set out to prove that a whisky business could be about more than what’s in the bottle. Focusing on our raw ingredients, making informed environmental choices, and putting Islay at the heart of our decision making has been imperative over the years, and we remain passionate about reconnecting land, community, and dram today.”

“Toss Bank's innovation has led to borderless inclusion, reimagining access to finance so that anyone can easily benefit from banking,” says Jihong Lee, Communications & CSR Lead of Toss Bank. “Through Common Good, we hope not only to share the values and direction we’ve pursued with a global audience, but also to highlight the positive social impact of digital banking and to spark broader conversations about its role in society.”

“Working with the BBC StoryWorks and B Lab Global, Common Good, to tell our Yerba Madre story has been an incredible opportunity to shine a light on the people and communities in South America who have inspired us – those who are not only growing the yerba mate plant but who are tending to the regeneration of the forest and its sacred value,” says Ben Mand, Chief Executive Officer of Yerba Madre. “We honor these stewards of yerba mate, both people and the land, as we strive to respect Mother Earth and build a more sustainable future together.”

“We are happy and proud to be part of this series, that we can show invisible realities and that collaboration in the most remote places in the world is real and of high impact,” says Sebastián Salinas, Chief Executive Officer of Balloon Latam.

“We want to show that designers have the power to change the world. By developing our products and processes together with social workplaces, we prove that design is not just about form and function, but also about creating opportunities and value for both business and society,” says René van Geer, Industrial Designer and Co-Founder of Secrid. “We are extremely proud that B Lab Global, in collaboration with BBC StoryWorks, is shining a spotlight on our way of working, and we hope that companies and designers feel inspired.”

“At Entuitive, we believe that purpose and performance are not mutually exclusive; they are mutually reinforcing,” says Brock Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer of Entuitive. “Our short film in the Common Good series is a proud moment for our team and a reflection of our commitment to be leaders in the transformation of the built environment for a sustainable future.”

“Jitasa was built to serve those who serve others. We’re honored to stand alongside thousands of nonprofits working for change — and as a B Corp, we’re proud to show that financial expertise, when grounded in purpose, can drive real-world impact for the common good,” says Jon Osterburg, Chief Operating Officer of Jitasa.

“We’re proud to stand alongside other purpose-driven organizations in the Common Good series,” says Neil Kiely, Chief Executive Officer of Androscoggin Bank. At Androscoggin Bank, we believe finance can be a force for positive change—and we’re honored to share how our work is helping build more inclusive, resilient communities.”
